Knowledge addresses the evolving, accumulative, sustaining and powerful influence of knowledge over ignorance and fundamentalism. Shared knowledge manifests deeper understanding contributing to new knowledge and increased understanding. Books are like conversations encouraging discourse and debate to advance ideas, opportunities, beliefs, histories and shared humanity. Five sequential prints were created in 2014 for Absence and Presence: A Printmaking Response to the Bombing of Al-Mutanabbi Street. The bombing occurred on March 5th, 2007 and targeted books and booksellers in Baghdad, Iraq. One artist’s book was created in 2017 from print set 3/3.
